Meth Contamination Levels

In Australia, the currently accepted safe level or reading is anything under 0.5μg/100cm².

That means that it is considered safe for less than 0.00000005 grams of methamphetamine to be present per square metre of surface area.

Anything over that level has to be remediated, in order to bring the level to under 0.5μg/100cm².

Under the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Act 2008, a lessor has to ensure a property is fit for a tenant to live in at the start of the tenancy.

So, if the residence is suspected to have been used to manufacture meth in the past, testing should be carried out and police should be informed.
